Friday, April Twelfth, Two Thousand & Thirteen

For the first time both the boys and I went out for an adventure into the woods…we were giving mom a break to get some things done without interruption. We made it to the creek were the boys searched  for sticks to fish with. |Toledo,Oh

Friday night the early childhood center where I work hosted a family night. We began with a potluck, then families visited each classroom, where the teachers had set up activities to go with a favorite book. My classroom highlighted the book Mouse Mess, by Linnea Riley, about a mouse who wakes up for a midnight snack and ends up leaving a terrible mess in the kitchen. We set out black paper and bowls of glue, oatmeal, cheerios, and cornmeal, inviting the children to explore the textures of the materials and make a “mouse mess” collage on their paper. |Kansas City, MO
